Cors y Gedol Hall Wedding Photography | Julia & Matt

A journey across North wales

It was an absolute honour to be asked by Matt and Julia to travel across North Wales for their wedding near Barmouth. To photograph a wedding at Cors y Gedol Hall is just a dream as a wedding photographer. Firstly I love an adventure so travelling is no issue at all, I stayed at a nice B&B near by. But the hall itself and the grounds are just beautiful. A large Elizabethan Manor at the foot of the Rhinog mountain range, this was setting up to be a brilliant day. Matt and his groomsmen got their suits on int he hall itself and Julia and the bridesmaids got ready at her family home a couple of miles down the road.

The ceremony itself and where they got wed, was at a local church situated up a small track. Julia’s dad drove her to the wedding in his own car which was super special. After the vows it started to rain, so a swift exit and back to Cors y Gedol Hall for the wedding reception. The mountain fog by now had set-in. You could see only a little way in the distance giving the entire wedding a lovely calming atmosphere. Having said that, the rest of the wedding was nothing but calm, quite a bit of crazy stuff happened which was just great to capture.

Fun wedding moments to photograph

What a super fun bunch of people – the drinks began to flow and the fun started. One of the ushers was pushed out into Cors y Gedol Hall’s lake on a little boat without any paddles. He returned soaking wet! The magician wowed groups all over. Guests, including grandma, had their faces glittered. Just such a fun wedding to shoot. I wish Julia and Matt best wishes for their future together as a married couple, and I am looking forward to photographing a wedding again soon at Cors y Gedol Hall.
